About the Race

The Bellville Police Department actively enforces the laws of The City of Bellville and the State of Texas under the guidance of the United States Constitution. In preserving the peace and dignity of the community, the Department works in partnership with the community using innovative ideas, programs and education, thereby creating a higher quality of life.

The Bellville, Texas community is very supportive of the Bellville Police Department. We thank you for that. To show our appreciation, we would like to invite you attend the Back the Blue 5K on April 4, 2020 at Clark Park. Money earned from this event will go to help CASA For Kids of South Central Texas. CASA For Kids is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that helps place abused and neglected children.  CASA for Kids of South Central Texas serves Austin, Colorado, Waller & Washington Counties and is part of a national volunteer movement that began in 1977 when Judge David Soukup in Seattle decided he needed to know more about the children whose lives were in his hands. His solution was to ask community volunteers to act as a “voice in court” for abused and neglected children. These Court Appointed Special Advocate® (CASAs) provided him with the detailed information he needed to safeguard the children’s best interests and ensure that they were placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.

We are very excited to be teaming up with Back the Blue 5K to be able to bring an amazing event to Bellville, Texas for the third year. Back the Blue 5K is a run/walk where community members can run or walk along with their law enforcement. Following the race there will be community building activities.
